Plan Review Procedures & Permit Application(s)

Timber Mesa Fire conducts plan reviews and requires permits on variety of construction related projects or occupancy operations. The Fire District reviews theses plans to ensure compliance with state and local codes, as they pertain to fire and life safety.

Timber Mesa Fire works in conjunction with the city of Show Low, The Town of Pinetop/Lakeside, and the Navajo County Building and Planning Department for all new construction, tenant improvements, and special events. Applications and plans are to be submitted to the local building department. Fees for a permit by the Fire District must be submitted directly to our office, as this is a separate process from the jurisdictions we serve. Plan reviews are typically completed within 10 business days once delivered to the Fire District.

The Fire District also requires the review of special events, such as carnivals, fairs, large sporting events, as examples.  The above list is not inclusive of all activities requiring a permit. Contact the Fire Prevention and Life Safety Division at 928-537-5100 to determine what is necessary for a specific project or event.
